OSX Mojave & Synth Squad

hey everyone

that scary, scary time is here again: an OS update that might... or might not... disable beloved legacy apps.

has anyone updated to OS 10.14 (Mojave), and if so, did it break anything? (...i just couldn't bear losing amber!)

nervously,

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

i know this thread is old and may have gone cold, but i just wanted to post this here little $.02: I'd be happy with the slightly slower option to scroll through all the presets on the disk. One of those features that takes you away from the computer and lets you focus more on your MIDI controller a...

AMBER 1.2.0.20 + Ableton Live Standard 9.7.1: Program Change, anyone?

hello everyone i realize that i'm asking for help about a legacy product, but perhaps one of you can lend some experience and expertise nonetheless. i'm running AMBER as a plug-in within LIVE and trying to get LIVE's clip-based Midi Patch Change feature to instruct Amber to change sounds using its P...

Strobe 2 wishlist: "101" video tutorials

greetings fxpansionists just putting in a word to request a little series of 101-type video tutorials for Strobe2. i've learned so much from the series of tremor 101's, and now wish that kind of extremely helpful, general instruction could be extended to Strobe 2. the feature-specific videos are ver...

Re: tremor + ableton live + APC40 MKII: configuration question

UPDATE: Now Working.... sort of. In the Live Instrument Rack, mapping each chain's SPEAKER button to a macro achieved the purpose. however i think this is perhaps not an elegant solution. while i'm sure there's often no "right" or "wrong" way to do many things, i can't help feel ...

tremor + ableton live + APC40 MKII: configuration question

greetings! this question regards using tremor within ableton LIVE (standard) which is being controlled by an APC40 MkII. i'm creating a rack instrument for tremor. so far i've got it set up to use the VST version of tremor, but i don't have to stick to that if AU would be better. i have the rack som...

Re: mute / unmute engines remotely?

updating this question: re-reading the manual, i learned that there are two distinct ways to execute a "mute" result: one is to mute pattern parts, the other (of which i wasn't aware til now) is a mute function on each engine in its mixer channel. the first does not seem to be mappable, bu...

mute / unmute engines remotely?

greetings

i know that engines (and patterns) can be triggered by incoming MIDI note values.

is there a way to map control of engine mute & solo?

thanks!

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

eurek-yness: patch change commands programmed into clips on one channel in LIVE are now instructing strobe (on an adjacent channel) to select quick-preset patches. i like it because it affords random access to any quick preset at any time (rather than restricting me only to next/previous options), a...

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

thanks so much everyone i'm now trying morph Strobe2 quick-presets within ABLETON LIVE (yknow the feeling that you're THIS.... CLOSE....???. not sure which emoticon one chooses for that one....) anyway: if i can figure it out, i'll certainly let you all know how i did it. and that insane cackling so...

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

thanks, Angus -- that's exactly what i was looking for (and i just found the same answer in the documentation where it is clearly described, related to the quick-presets only this morning. naturally!) that said, the ability to scroll thru would be great but i'm sure the number of presets far eclipse...

new user: remote patch changes?

hey everyone i've been using strobe since dcam synth squad, but now i'm loving "2" in a whole new way. can any of its (zillions of) patches can be called by sending a midi patch change? from looking at the documentation my impression is, "no"..... but i could well be novicing on ...
