Re: Install issues on macOS Sierra (10.12) (Resolved)

Bittersweet to find this forum post. I've had BFD since v2 came out and have had to reinstall 3-4 times since buying a BFD3 upgrade and moving onto newer workstations over the years. Other than the first install, 100% of subsequent ones have been a major PITA. So here I learn after banging my head o...

My BFD2 Stock samples, kits, etc. are Missing from BFD3 Install

No doubt I'm the thousandth user to have this issue but I can't find the answer in prior forum threads. How do I get my stock BFD2 (which is still installed) samples, kits, etc. to show up in BFD3? I still like a lot of them but they didn't seem to import.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Seems like what's happening is I need to record a pedal down event before my actual punch in point on the track before playing the hihat. Basically if I playback the track anywhere the next cc event involves an open hat, the hat stays open. Not recording arming the tr...

Hi Jord: Not sure I understand your reply. I am using variable tip articulations in my Key Map and the hihat works perfectly with BFD3 when I am performing during recording. The problem is that when I playback the already recorded MIDI data (without recording anything new), every hihat event plays a...

Re-Mapping Variable HiHats

I'm recording MIDI drum tracks in BFD3 (Logic Pro X) using a Yamaha DTX kit with variable HiHat pad. Everything sounds great when I perform during recording; but upon playback the hihat always sounds wide open, regardless of my foot having been firmly planted down on the pedal during recording. Had ...

Dual Zone HiHats

Just a note that if you are using a DTX Multi 12 with the RHH135 HiHat, you must plug the pad output of the RHH135 into INPUT 13 of the DTX Multi 12. INPUT 13 is the only input supporting multi-zoned external pads on the DTX Multi 12.

Frankly, it would have been nice to know before purchasing BFD3 that all its samples are recorded at 44.1 and that the engine has to do realtime conversions to function at a higher sample rate. Right off the mark, this is bad news for musicians and technicians working in post-production / broadcast ...

Forgot to mention I'm running an RME Fireface UFX audio interface and have the BFD3 content on a 6-drive, 7200RPM, Thunderbolt RAID.

Resource Drainage / Sample Rate ?

Having issues with BFD3 draining system resources. Even when I strip my project down to a BFD track, one stereo reference track, no plugins (other than BFD3), no other applications running and only three drums - the CPU maxes out in less than 2-bars and audio quality suffers so bad that I can't inte...

Thanks

... I actually spent about 45 minutes reading the manual last night but apparently am blind. Either that and / or the topic may be worthy of more attention in the docs.

Actually Happens In Stand-Alone Mode Too

... Only way I can get more than a hit articulation lane visible in most kit piece's palette editor is to click on groove presets. This is ridiculous. How do I show a lane for all drums' articulations? I'm expanding everything but no dice.

Most Drum Lane Articulations Missing in Logic Pro X

Most articulations other that "Hit" are missing from the BFD3 Drum Lanes in Logic Pro X. Basically makes the app worthless to me since I'm always using side-sticks, rim shots and hoping to use the one measly snare-on brush piece. All the articulations show up in the stand-alone mode. LAME....
