Re: Install issues on macOS Sierra (10.12) (Resolved)

The installer for the Geist 2 demo doesn't work, with or without the workaround. I'd like to try the demo while the upgrade sale price is in effect.

@peterdines Possible, with some caveats: a lot of Synth Squad's engine runs on (floating-point) pitch rather than frequency . We can do fractional tuning per note, but it's effectively warping the pitch (so making, say, 'A' to be 3.1 semitones lower than 'C' instead of 3). Think it'll cover most ap...

Looks and sounds gorgeous! Any chance of microtuning support via .SCL or .TUN files?

Thank you! for the perfect looping of diff length patterns

I just wanted to say, thank you for making Geist loop its patterns seamlessly when they're different lengths and timings in different engines. They work like Ableton clips in that sense, and the shorter ones don't reset when the longest one does or any of that stupid shit. Each one chugs along in it...

New bug for ya: P1 wheel does nothing when manipulated by the mouse. I have to control it by MIDI to make it have any effect on the sound. Tried in Strobe and Cypher, AUi and VSTi (I suspect this is probably code held in common between all the synths) I did make Reaper stop labeling the 64 bit plugs...

That's pretty good because I get this scaling to 1.5 on OSX(10.8): Renderful, did you restart your host after saving the scaled setting as default? That's what I had to do to get the scaling to work - well, not entirely properly, but better than that. I got a garbled version like yours when I re-in...

I have the context menu bug too when Strobe is scaled up to 1.5. Here I've right clicked on the pulse width knob. Haven't tried scaling the other synths yet. This is in Reaper 64 4.61 on OS X 10.9.2 edit: oh yeah and Reaper still labels it as an x86 plugin in the plugin menus, but it loads as an unb...

Thank you thank you thank you! Looks like that weird rendering bug is gone, the one that used crazy stupid CPU when I tweaked knobs in fusor or a synth.

Now you only need to add microtuning and it will be the perfect VA plugin suite. :D

+1 for microtuning and Scala .SCL file support. I've been getting rather heavily into microtuning lately and it's sad that SS doesn't support it. It opens up a huge world of possibilities. Check out what Aleksi Perala's been doing with microtunings: http://ovuca.com/

Use the voice parameters in transmod. See p. 62 in the manual for examples. Try voice1 +/- via LFO1 +/- with two or three voices so they move around in the stereo field.

Geist VSTi beta seems pretty smooth in Reaper 64 on Mac. No problems so far. Still no swing on live playing / recording with beat repeat. Sigh.

Buchla sounds in Cypher?

Has anyone programmed typical Buchla "bongo" type tones in Cypher? I'm getting sort of decent results modulating the FM amount and filter cutoff with the amp envelope, medium decay, very low sustain and higher release to give it that vactrol "ring", but it's missing something... ...

Disable synth engines but still allow MIDI out?

Hi, is there a way to disable the synth engines and just use the MIDI sequencer to send patterns out to another plugin? All the mute buttons I've tried stop the MIDI out. I guess I could turn down the master or channel volumes but then the synth engines are still consuming CPU. If you currently can'...
