Re: What's going on?

Maybe the build date got overlooked? OK I know... I don't think I've ever come across a developer that seemed so disinterested in their core products or user community. The really bizarre thing being is that it is actually a damn good product that just needs the routine degree of attention and someo...

Re: What's going on?

I fired up Geist2 last night, first time for a long while, played around for about 4 hours. It didn't crash once, I didn't encounter any serious issues. I had a lot of fun and it behaved well enough for me to want to get back into it. The concept is truly awesome, I desperately hope the struggles of...

Re: The perfect Geist, ripped down and mean as hell

Personally I think Geist2 is a good way in for new users. It's not over complicated and is generally all laid out fairly clearly. My thought was more for somebody who already has other advanced mixing or fx VSTs and prefers to work more closely within their DAW. Although obviously someone can use as...

The perfect Geist, ripped down and mean as hell

Anyone else interested in the idea of a Geist cut to the bare bones as a new vst plugin? A rock solid stable sample player. No sequencer, no song arrangement. Single engine. Perhaps not even fx or 'transmod'. Basically the sample player with tabs for layer/pad mixer. Multiple outs obviously. Capable...

Re: MIDIMAPPING

Focus mode adheres to entire Engines as opposed to single parameters. Wouldn't that would make more sense for basic mixer functions? Bindings on 'group focus' would follow engine selection.

Re: More mapping woes.

I would have been happy to had the focus work on one whole engine rather than individual pads. Seems to make more sense but alas doesn't appear a way of doing it. Mapping everything takes up a hell of a lot of CCs!

Re: More mapping woes.

Works in Reaper at least. I've not any experience with other DAWs but I'm sure it's the same in principle.

Re: How to route Geist2 in Reaper?

One idea you might like to try. Insert 8 tracks and route them to the track containing Geist. Track 1 routing MIDI All - MIDI Ch1 Track 2 routing MIDI All - MIDI Ch2 Track 3 routing MIDI All - MIDI Ch3 And so on. In Geist route pads in all the 8 engines to sub outs in the same way. Now you can audit...

Re: More mapping woes.

OK test. Geist 2 in Reaper. Fresh project. Select engine 1. Select pad mixer. Select pad 1. Enable MIDI learn. Select gain. Apply MIDI input. Disable learn. Mapping panel. Fine. Assigned correctly. Select Engine 2. Enable learn. Oddly the previous engine 1 binding is displayed on any engines pad 1 g...

Re: More mapping woes.

Sorry, confusing the issue. The channels I'm using are incidental to the problem.

Re: Sequencer in Chromatic mode

Look in the pitch graph associated with that pad. If you live record in chromatic mode that's where the information goes. The modes don't affect the functions of the sequencer. Select a different pad and then those samples are pitched chromatically.

Re: More mapping woes.

Well, yes that would work for any selected pad on any engine. Although what I'm trying to achieve, and how I had Geist setup, is control of specific parameters in specific engines. CC# on channel 1 to all main mixer parameters on engine 1. Channel 2 to engine 2, and so on, following the general prot...

More mapping woes.

I'm finding any parameter in Pad Mixer is assigned to the correct parameter but always to engine 4. Previous versions have stuck to engine 3. The first release pinned all the parameters to engine 1. Anyone else seeing this? I couldn't find any mention to this particular issue in the forum. Parameter...
