Re: Triggering 2nd snare from piano roll in daw...

Good to go! For those curious on what to do. Click on "Key Map" and select an empty place on the BFD3 piano roll, (to the left of the main window) where you will drag and drop articulations of the instrument you are wanting to assign to it. The articulations will show in that upper right h...

Triggering 2nd snare from piano roll in daw...

So I purchased the Jazz Maple kit for some brush work and have added a second snare so that one can do brushes and the other one does hits. I tried to work in the BFD3 engine but alas I find it tricky to do triplets so I went and started using the piano roll. This works well be now I can't seem to t...

Anybody using BFD3 in Sonar X1? Unique Situation...

I can trigger BFD3 in Sonar X1 easy enough. My real issue is that I want to use one MIDI track to trigger two VST's as I'm using the Kick, Snare, Toms from Ocean Way Drums and the Cymbals from BFD3 Paiste collection. Trying to work with MIDI Echo in Sonar but can't quite massage it all together and ...

Re: Get Groove Editor to reflect customized drum kit

Purtington,
Thank you for the reply...I wii look into it tomorrow. It's really nice to be able to expand my cymbals and the amount of articulations available is really nice to have!

Re: Get Groove Editor to reflect customized drum kit

Ok...this is interesting. I have my Crash 1 Crash 2 Crash 3 all next to each other in the Mixer screen AND they are triggered not according to their name but rather it seems the order inside the Groove Editor so Crash 1, Cymbal 1, Ride 1 is triggering my three crashes so it seems to me that the Mixe...

Get Groove Editor to reflect customized drum kit

So I can add channels and such to load other instruments but how do I get Groove Editor to update itself to reflect different/additional pieces? In Groove Editor I can choose View>>Show Drums>>All but when I put in trigger notes for say "Crash 3" nothing happens. Ok...going back to it.. Th...

All Cymbal Preset and Groove Editor Routing

Spent the last productive hours trying to make an all cymbal Preset but the difficulty I'm stumbling onto is the Groove Editor will trigger the first two "Crash" cymbals I have going but will not do the 3rd even though I found out how to access it, made a groove and placed that groove on t...

Automate "Dynamics" in the Global settings?

Does anybody know if such a thing is possible? I've done several searches in the forums but alas...I haven't been successful in finding an answer to my query. I like the idea of giving it a nudge in certain parts of the song to make the performance itself more dynamic. Maybe one has to dub the whole...

jackn2pmu Thanks for the reponse and yes...me thinks you're probably correct, your feedback was helpful in thinking it through. Just purchased and am downloading Oblivion as one of the Mapex Kicks off their demo seemed to get the closest to my ears. After finishing that download I will also check ou...

New to BFD3 and looking for specific snare/kick sound to start with

Soooo.... I'm downloading BDF3 sample content and with the download speed fluctuation I should have them all between 5 hours and tomorrow! ;-) As I patiently wait, (started roughly 8 hours ago) I thought I'd see if the forum might be able to point me in the right direction on getting the drum sounds...

using expansion pack cymbals with BFD Eco

How many cymbals can you use in Eco?
I want to use multiple cymbals from the available expansion packs and am wondering if I can load Eco with only cymbals form the expansion pack and so use more than just 3?

Thanks!
