Re: macOS 10.15 Catalina compatibility

I went ahead and updated after a Time Machine backup, and I'm seeing the same issues. With BFD3, every time I trigger a kit piece (by clicking it in the GUI), I get multiple requests for permission to access both Documents and "an external volume", which is the HD I have the samples instal...

Re: macOS 10.15 Catalina compatibility

Any news about this macOS update? Hi Phil, We still recommend not updating to macOS 10.15 Catalina until we've given the go-ahead. We're currently addressing issues that affect our software installers and will let you know when it's safe to update. FXpansion is not the only company lagging on this ...

I have the USB upgrade, froze the first time at 53%. I installed the fix above, and it froze at 81%. Trying again, it's been several hours now and no install. Did your computer fall asleep at all?? It didn't go into sleep mode, but it was going to a screen saver and lock screen. I disabled that and...

Small correction: we've never said BFD2 would be AAX64, in fact BFD2 dev was frozen at 2.3.1.6, which was well over a year before the AAX64 SDK was available even in draft form, so that our BFD dev team could concentrate on BFD3. At a minimum it appears there has been some obfuscation. There is a v...

Another Plea for AAX 64

I understand that fxpansion has scrapped their promised AAX64 update for BFD2, and will only be offering it with BFD3. I personally don't mind buying BFD3, and would probably have done it anyway. The problem is that virtually every major plug-in manufacturer has now released AAX 64 versions of their...

Haven't got time to read the whole thread, but I have a few dream inclusions, maybe unrealistic, but maybe not, who knows. What would be really cool (and probably help with marketing and sales) is to get some famous drummers involved. The Bonham kit in BFD2 was a good start, but I'm thinking about s...

@jack - you have mail. @aahladas if you have a tight schedule on the current project, for the sake of everything good in the world do not upgrade your DAW midway through  We were led to believe that we would have the tools on a schedule that allowed us to meet Avid's commitment to the userba...

"Everything at beta" - means the entire product line of the time (15 individual plug-ins). Many of them will have been signed off as final well before that. Given other things in the pipeline though, I don't think our QA team could with a clear conscience sign off the entire line as final...

Definitely BFD2 first. It should be the only thing they're working on right now.

Thing is this is not an overnight thing as AAX 64 bit was known to the developer community for a number of years. Known to us, sure.. as in, Avid told us a good while ago, "..we have a new plug-in format that you're going to need to adopt at some point". AAX is a ground-up and future-proo...
