Re: What expanders are you picking up with Geist2? What about GURU expander?

I don't know if you guys follow / watch Goldbaby's releases, but he sells most of his stuff with Geist kits.

If you get the Goldbaby expander, like it, and have not looked into his sample packs, I suggest taking a look at his stuff. Sometime he has a sale on his website or through Loopmasters.

Re: What expanders are you picking up with Geist2? What about GURU expander?

I have the Cinematic Percussion, Goldbaby, and Vintage Drumbox expanders already. I upgraded to Geist2 but have not decided on my packs yet. I can highly recommend Goldbaby and Vintage Drumbox for electronica. I bought the Cinematic Percussion expander more for some interesting additions to my palet...

Whatever happens, please please make the GUI larger and easier to read and do so without just scaling the widgets that you have now (makes them look fuzzy).

Could do with a few extra requested features and tweaks though, it's all subjective to each individual user - some people may consider the resizable GUI to be feature bloat, others may not ;-) :D Good point. I have no clue what percentage of computer users, and in particular Geist licenses, are run...

I found it posted here before, but it would be very nice if the GUI for Geist was made about 1.5 times larger. I don't know if the widgets would all have to be remade - just scaling them might make them sort of fuzzy. Honestly I would redo them, which is probably an insanely huge job. The fuzzy widg...

I am going to chime in here really, really late to this party and say that I absolutely love the size of the GUI for Bloom. I wish that various elements of the Geist GUI were that large and could be hidden or opened or on tabs or something. I am an older fart (pushing 50). Maybe I should just get sp...

Oh derp, I see in the FAQ for the expansion that the close mic samples are dry and the reverb for the ambient mic is from the recording room reverb, which is sort of the point of an ambient mic.

Are the Cinematic Percussion raw sounds heavily processed?

Listening to the video and the demo mp3's for Cinematic Percussion, the percussion sounds are heavily processed with, e.g., reverbs. Are the raw sounds heavily processed or are the demo tracks made with added processing?

It is nice to know that bug fixes will be coming out incrementally and (hopefully) frequently in the next few weeks as the new product is stressed by a broad user base. My personal preference would be that the product go through a few rounds of bug squashing before any new features are added.

Re: Geist Impressions and Suggestions

they are not fixes they are features You are right. Transport counter is a feature. Envelope, however, I would consider a fix of an already existing feature since there are extremely basic functions that cannot be performed without some alteration here. Anyway, I do appreciate your responsiveness a...

Thanks for the reply Paul, but I think that this feature is bugged. I assume that you mean the "Foc" check box as described in the manual. Not only is the feature bugged, but the functioning of the bug seems to be related to the state of Geist. Even if I clear my default preset and reset G...

MIDI messages -> pad mixer only work on first engine even with other engine in focus

I am working with a Novation Zero SL MkII for controlling Geist in stand alone. I have noticed that when Engine 2 is in focus on Geist, MIDI messages sent on channel 9 to adjust the pad mixer faders adjust the levels for Engine 1 instead of Engine 2. I have programmed the faders on the Zero SL to tr...

You can load one of the BFD2 wav files onto a layer on a pad in Geist. I have tried this already. You won't get full BFD2 functionality with the mic modeling and whatnot, but you can use the wav files.

You can read the individual wav files from BFD2 into a layer in Geist and use them but based on my limited understanding the articulations for each kit piece in BFD2 require multiple wav files. So you if you license BFD2 and any add-ons, you can go through your kit piece files and play around with b...

The plan is for us to either:- * reformat the GURU factory content for Geist & re release it free to everyone that already owns both or * build an export tool so that you can do it automatically .. we just need to figure out which approach will be most time-efficient. Bear with us on this! Eith...
