Re: Berklee version of STROBE 2

Hi,

I suspect your CPU is just too old to run it successfully - it needs at least a "Prescott" Pentium 4 with SSE3. The first- and second-generation Willamette / Northwood Pentium 4 processors from 2003-4 won't work.

Best regards,
Angus.

Re: Cpu features not working

Is your i5 a true quadcore, or a 2C/4T? Judging from those numbers I suspect the latter.

Yes - everything of ours that works on 7 & 8 will work on 10.

Re: Guru VST and Windows 8.1 in Ableton 8 ?

GURU's VST plugin needs to be in Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins -- it's a 32-bit VST DLL, not 64-bit.

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

We have Prev and Next Patch on the up/down arrow keys now, would be quite easy to do the same over MIDI. Any suggestions for CC numbers etc.?

Re: new user: remote patch changes?

The eight "Quick Preset" slots can always be instantly recalled with PGM CH 1..8. Think of it as an eight-slot program change map which is saved with your DAW song/session.

Hope this helps,
Angus.

Re: Strobe 2 not working on Ubuntu 14.04 (I know it's not supported)

As I thought, it's DirectWrite blowing up.

There's a new build coming soonish which will have a couple of extra error checks - should allow it to run at least, but without text. Keep an eye out for announcements of new builds & take it for a spin when it's ready.

Re: Strobe 2 not working on Ubuntu 14.04 (I know it's not supported)

That could be the problem. Will take a look at the crashlog when I'm back in the office, but it's certainly something in the GUI drawing code that's blowing up.

Thanks. Do you happen to know if your Ubuntu / Wine environment supports the Direct2D & DirectWrite Windows APIs?

What's the spec on your laptop? If you can put the dmp files on a dropbox or some such, I can take a look.

Re: using the separate filters in cypher

You can automate it by scaling the amount of LFO=>Filter using one of the PERF mod sources or one of the available MIDI control sources (aftertouch, breath etc.)

So your mod source is set to e.g. "LFO+- via PERF1", dial in the depth you want, and then use PERF1 to control the amount.
