Re: Cypher2 early look

Some of what's going in: - Much, much lower CPU load than v1, especially on AVX computers ("Sandy Bridge" and later i3/i5/i7's & "Core M", 2xxx-6xxx generation). - More flexible FM routing - At least three new filters each with a bunch of different modes, including Combfilter...

Re: Love it! Minor request though...

No plans for the FX version at the moment, sorry. It's something we can look at once Cypher2's done, but I'm not sure if it makes more sense to do that or bring some of Strobe2's enhancements to our dedicated filter plug-in Etch. Would it help to have an FX Insert version (in Strobe2's FX section) o...

We do use hand written intrinsics. But the way it's architected, there's a high level dispatcher which looks at the available instruction set & dispatches to a compilation unit compiled with a specific instruction set in mind, with compiler flags set a particular way. It's actually pretty sophis...

If we remove the CPUID tests entirely, it'd crash immediately - on your CPU and 80% of others. Vishera appears to support AVX1 and FMA3, but not AVX2. We can, in that instance, take advantage of AVX1 but not FMA3 -- Visual Studio doesn't provide an option to generate FMA3 w/o AVX2. I'm happy to rele...

If you contacted Tech Support - do you have a support ticket number? Will take a look if so.

Tremor uses a self-extractor EXE, unless I'm very much mistaken?

Can you try unZIPing with WinRAR or similar?

Technobear - do you need to map it to a custom range, or is +- 1 octave all you use? (Note to self - being able to lock a mod slot and all its depths would be a rather handy feature to have). What are you mapping Perf2 to? IIRC, the first amp stage is linear in level response, but nonlinear in terms...

What did you unZIP the installer with..? Sounds like it might have corrupted some of the files.

Do either of you have a link outlining the standard? Honestly I'm not entirely happy about a plug-in vendor releasing new standards without (as far as I'm aware) any discussion on the various developer mailing lists & expecting everyone to adopt them -- reminiscent of Microsoft in the bad old da...

What is it you're looking for? We still offer customer technical support & advice on any/all queries, but there will be no more software updates to the v1.20.xx line.

If it doesn't start, it's probably already running. Have you checked the list of processes in windows taskmanager?

We found there literally wasn't anything to gain going beyond 8x. No benefits, if anything the additional downsampling filter stages made things worse. 2x is good enough for almost everything with Strobe2, occasionally 8x is noticeably better, but there just wasn't any point in going beyond. Filter ...

Yes, Fusor2 is in the works!

In the mean time - the Perf sources, which have doubled in Strobe2 to four (P1, P2, PX, PY) serve exactly the same purpose as Macros.

You don't have to use PX & PY as an X/Y controller - you can, but you don't have to.
