System: iMac 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
OS Mac OS X 10.5.6
TC Powercore firewire
Cubase 4 & TC Powercore work perfectly, plugis can be found and work properly without (major) latency
Problem: VST2RTAS Adapter v2.1 - Protools 8
- During installation of RTAS adapter the installation program suddenly fails, strangly the progam keeps on searching for VSTi files to convert them to RTAS.
- When plugins are used (on pevious recorded sessions) they work, but major latency occurs.
- When using Protools 8 after installing the adapter, the plugins can be found but when 2 -3 (simple TC plugins) are loaded Protools keeps coming with message:
'Lost communication with the audio interface. Pleade try increasing " H/W Buffer Suze" or removing som eplug-ins, and make sure you have a valid clock source. Press OK to reset device. (-6097)'
- We have changed buffer size in Protools and changed ' buffer multiplier' from the TC Powercore, but this does not solve the problem.
The error message shown during installation of the adapter is:

When using Powercore plugins with vst-rtas, you might want to try switching ProTools RTAS Processing to 1 core. We've had reports that this solved issues in the past. It's not really an adapter problem, but more to do with the way ProTools and Powercore handle multicore processing.
I'll have to leave Angus to dissect the crash report.
