Does the report button even work?

I'm seeing a bunch of spam on the board which I'm hit the report button and haven't really seen any action on them. I even checked off to notify me.

Are these actually hitting someone's email box. Or even more so, is this functionality even working?

I've reported a couple last week and wondered the same.

It's funny though, some of those randomly generated ones are quite funny and I'd thought about using them as song lyrics.
I thought if Bowie could get away with cutting up words from newspapers why not me? :?

Hi - quick update on this - we had some issues with deleting forum posts with the new site which are hopefully now resolved.
So your reports have been coming through but we've been unable to delete them - this should get better now, so please do keep reporting things and we'll start to clean up old reports too.

Cheers

Get that webmaster dust buster on the go... lots of SPAM on the forum.

Something I've just discovered which hides the spam is that when you click on the "spammers" name (highlighted in blue at the top of their post) it brings up their, "profile" there you can either add them as a friend or as a foe.

I thought this was a joke at first but I tried it to see what would happen and it has removed their posts from the threads so at least until
the forum hosts/web masters get round to (or figure out how to) get shot of them their posts will not be visible.

OH! You just gave me an idea. I have an app called Liptikl which does exactly this. I'm going to plug these posts in and see what kind of lyrics I get.

This ought to be funny!

Nice tip! The spam's got excessive over the last couple of days, and this definitely helps.

Unfortunately it still shows up in the 'New Posts' link, so hopefully FXP will get the users blocked and posts deleted soon :-)

Ok, now they've really taken off! I guess now the spam account has a few posts under its belt, a posting limit has been removed and it's now able to post more frequently. Definitely getting in the way of things now...

This is bloody insane!!

It really is making me wonder how a company that does software of discreet component modelling and drum players can't handle something simple like SPAM. Is this like too simple to handle.

It's really causing me to believe that either everyone is living in some reality distortion bubble or just don't care.

If this was someone's physical storefront, it would be someone just keeps littering the floor.

I wondered why they have suddenly increased. Maybe FX could allow certain users to be moderators too?
They did this on the Sonar forum and posts get removed within minutes (well mine do)

Angus, SKoT and Rhi all at least have been at NAMM, but I'm not sure about the others running backend. They should implement Google's latest ReCaptcha for registration to stop these guys. Agreed it's becoming overbearing, as, too the slowness of the site whole. :(

DANG! Looks like a bloody miracle. I think the SPAM has been alleviated!

Good thing I managed to get a whole bunch of the posts to put into Liptikl. It already gave me a bunch of lines. Perhaps, I should post them in commemoration of this occasion and perhaps initiate an song challenge on the forum. Perhaps we could make the rule being that you have to use at least one FXPansion instrument (not an effect by itself). :D
