Yamaha DTX-Multi 12 maps and support file

Postby john emrich » Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:25 am

Greetings,

Here is a set of files for both the DTX-Multi 12 and BFD2/BFD Eco. These files include the trigger set up for the Multi 12 to correctly play BFD2 and BFD Eco.

You can watch a video about these files on youtube.

Enjoy,
John

HELP Please

Postby tolley » Wed Oct 17, 2012 4:55 am

Hi,
I've got a similar set up and I love it.

A few things...

1) How do you get the dtx file into the multi 12?
2) how do I get dual zone hi hats, I can only get bfd reading one in the midi set up.

Any more help or instruction would be amazing!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Dave

All of the info is in the DTX Multi12 manual. You can get that here....

In a nutshell you go into the UTILITY function of the Multi12 to load the module file.

Thanks John,
I got the map installed into bfd and the map into the DTX. Now, bfd isn't registering the dtx. I saved it under U001 but now for some reason there's some disconnect.

Two things to make sure of.......

1. USB drivers for the Yamaha are installed on the computer.

2. You have selected the DTX for your MIDI preferences so that BFD2 is looking for the MIDI info coming from the module.

That's the funny thing. Everything was working prior to connecting the USB and loading the dtx file. Everything was communicating. I just checked all that and everything thing is the same.

On the DTX multi screen it says KIT 1, U001 (which is flashing): BFD

I'm sorry to be a pain, I'm really stoked to get this working and love how much support you're providing, I really appreciate it.

Go to Utility 6-9 in the DTX Multi12 and make sure it is sending MIDI out the USB port.

Cheers,
John

Got it all sorted!!! Thank You So much!

I was running midi and audio through my RME Babyface so something went weird with the midi port. I updated every driver in the chain. I unplugged the midi and just ran it USB to the computer. Everything is awesome!

Thanks again for the quick response with this problem and creating those two maps. Much appreciated!

Dual Zone HiHats

Postby RT2 » Mon Feb 03, 2014 12:22 pm

Just a note that if you are using a DTX Multi 12 with the RHH135 HiHat, you must plug the pad output of the RHH135 into INPUT 13 of the DTX Multi 12. INPUT 13 is the only input supporting multi-zoned external pads on the DTX Multi 12.
