Here's another for you guys/gals...

In the style of Nickelback's "Never Again".

It needs some more work IMHO, but you should get an idea hopefully for how powerful the EJB kits really are for this genre and what's possible when using parallel comp, reverb, eq, compression, multing channels, etc... Be sure to check out the send routings, specific frequencies used for kit pieces' eq's, etc...

**EJB required**

Note: I added a 2nd snare as the compression was too great for lower velocity hits on the snare fill you hear in my grooves (they were too pronounce). I'm looking at this from a programmers perspective in engineering the preset, but if I were as an E-Drummer I'd try to tailor the comp settings to get a smoother dynamic performance over the range of velocities... Twiddle those knobs E-Drummers!! :P

Enjoy!!

Ash :D

Hey folks!
What's the news on this "Copeland" artist groove pack that was mentioned in some posts some time ago? Is it here yet? Or are there other similar things to check out instead? I've got a lot of Groove monkee grooves, but I'd love to get a hold on some old police-like grooves that play with emphasis on the hats and kick and lots of splashes and symbals.
suggestions any one?
cheers,
RiveraMan

BFD2 is fantastic btw, but everybody knows that of course....

Hey RiveraMan, and all...

I had to put this pack on hold for a year due to a serious Achilles injury I sustained. I've been quite busy with sessions too and am trying to find more permanent work in studios, so this has just been on the back burner since.

I'll have a chat with the FXpansion guys/gals, Rail, and see what their thoughts are to me completing the pack and getting it out there to you all.

Edit;

My plans are:

To create a plethora of grooves (no set number as yet, I'll see where my programming skills take me) in the style of Mr. Copeland, referencing all songs/albums by "The Police", and organising such in palettes either by song or album. I'll also be producing static mixes of all the BFD2 kits - i.e. with no EQ, Compression, Effects or routing, and by which I mean; only volume adjusted (so no clipping occurs) with kit piece trims and artic' parameters in the KPI (Kit Piece Inspector) - so you may tailor the mix yourselves. And I'll produce fully mixed kits with EQ, Compression, Effects and routing, etc...

Stay tuned :D

Ash

P.s. If you've any thoughts/comments regarding the pack I'll gladly take them on board.

Hey Ash,
that's too bad man. Hope you get better quickly. Tendinitis and that sort of stuff is a musician's nightmare...
you've got great plans there!
It seems what you describe is just what I'm looking for!
Don't let the flame go out on that back burner!
good luck!

I'd be interested in the Copeland pack. Sorry to hear about the Achilles. I hope you get well.

Here's a quick whip up of an industrial esq. kit using the AFJ pack... Cym's yet to be added. I'd suggest (if adding them) you send all ambient sends in the KPI (and mix levels there) to an aux per kit piece, and mute the bleed to snare and kick drums mics.

Cheers 8)

With all the hot weather us UK'ers are having atm I thought I'd take flavour of the Spanish sun and create this funky preset.

Just hit play and listen to the grooves.

Enjoy!

Packs used... JNF and Percussion (Egg Shaker).

Here's a short drum solo to go with the JNF preset above. I've duplicated the Low Tom and tuned it down so to have another for fills and cleaned up the mix a touch more. I'll post the new preset if you wish?

Enjoy!
