I recently discovered what the envelop follower can do when controlling filter cutt off frequency - combined with the saturation modes this thing sound very very good. I am sometimes using the plug in in offline mode, and would wish to be able to amplify the envelop follower's curve.
In the cases when the input signal does not reach 0dbfs, the filter cut off will not open up to 100% and I need to either put a trim plug before it, or when using it offline, to go back and raise the volume of the file. I briefly tried to send modulation from the envelope follower to the AD envelope's gain parameter, and then let that control the same filter cut off, hoping that this might double the resulting frequency, but this did not work. Is there a way to do this in Etch now?
I've run into this issue again so I'm bumping up the request!
I want to add that good gain staging practice recommends that you keep your tracking signals quite far below 0db, so the Envelope Follower Gain really needs to go to more than 100%. I'm thinking 400% Would be much more desirable.
