Etch vs Etch Red are there any major differences between the two?

Postby KevWestBeats » Mon Jun 25, 2012 10:50 pm

I rewire Reason into Live 8 and my intitial thought was to skip most of the RE fx and I'll admit I skipped on Etch when I first saw it too but now looking at it again this is really cool for adding movement to synths and things like that so I may have to grab this one but I am not sure if I should grab it for Reason or in vst form or both if there are real major differences. My initial thought is still to grab the vst so i can use it on all of my plug ins too but before I do anything what are the major differences between the gui to make it fit for Reason?

The filters are essentially the same. The differences are mainly modulation related. Retch Red has CV/Gate control. Native has more MIDI control. In terms of pure sound though, you can think of them as the same.
