I don't think I'm going to try the update again at this juncture. I'm only sorry I was suckered into buying the update from BFD2 to BFD3.

I've always preferred the BFD2 graphics anyway.

Oh I'm glad I upgraded, BFD3 is so much better than BFD2 and to be honest, I'm not sure what the cause of my problems were but I think it probably had noting to do with the BFD3 updates and much more likely was something else I updated or installed in windows 10, otherwise it would still be causing problems on a brand new install of windows 10 and it isn't.

It's a major pain but I realised fxpansion weren't responsible once I discovered it worked fine on a fresh OS.

I can't use the 3.3.0.44. I always get the message that BFD 1 needs to be authorized. That means that also the new update didn't solve the problem. So I did go back to 3.2.3.3

It didn't also solve the problem when I was going back to 3.2.3.3 and then updating directly to 3.3.0.44.

I leave it on 3.2.3.3. BFD3 now works again.

Any suggestion?

I have multiple versions of BFD3 installed.
Seems it's installed the 32bit versions somehow.

This is the first problem I got when I initially installed 3.3.0.43 a few weeks ago.

The problem is clearly not fixed yet.

Not very impressive.

it's entirely likely that fxpansion WERE responsible. The current problem people are with the multiple licence error is because the BFD installer is just leaving a lot of old junk around the place - it would be simple for fxp to write all of this to a log file and keep track of it.......but they forgot.

If a fresh OS install fixes it then great, but hardly a reasonable solution for most people.

very sloppy programming - and even more sloppy testing IMO. I mean it would be fairly simple to visit this forum shortly after releasing a new version to take a look at the problems people were having, even if it was just basiccuriosity. If I'd written it I'd have been anxious to find out....seems to have been very little effort made in doing that.

I suspect BFD has turned into a very side project for some junior developer......

Although I did have the multiple versions warning that wasn't why I reinstalled windows.
That was a minor annoyance that I eventually fixed using Lawrence s advice of going through the registry.
It's true though, there shouldn't have been BFD3 32 bit files contained in the installer since they went 64bit only.

My bug was far worse and made BFD3 unusable in real time due to not being able to highlight channels as they would continually switch.
So when Lawrence said they were unable to replicate it I knew I'd be stuck with t for a long long time if there was something I had installed on my system that was causing it.

I agree, a fresh install shouldn't have to be the only way to fix a bug but quite often in my experience, bugs can be introduced quite often through other software. When FXpansion, or any other software company test for bugs they have no way of knowing what other software you might have that could be causing problems.

Yes, feels that way, doesn't it?

After bitching about no Windows 7 support I have finally 'upgraded' to Windows 10 only to see that the new BFD3 update seems to be causing people grief.

Is this safe to install or should I just stay on the previous version?

I see there's a new Jazz Noir expansion pack. Honestly, do you fxpansion expect people to buy these? I have in the past but have now stopped as I feel that at some point BFD will be unsupported, making any future investment in it pointless.

I want to be positive about this product but I see no real development, a release that is buggering up people's systems, forums full of Chinese. None of this is very confidence-inspiring.

For me as well,I have to returned to 3.2.3.3. Very disappointed since this is the only drum sampler I use on daily basis. :?

How does the Vertical Resizing work?

The BFD3 layout is too big to fit on my wide 3440 x 1440 screen which is scaled to 200%, and too big to fit on my 1280 x 1024 screens!

I need to be able to resize the entire BFD3 display to fit the screens, like most modern apps.

I can't find Vertical Resizing in the user manual.

I would strongly suggest you change your screen resolution to the recommended 1920 x 1080.
Unless you have sight problems and need everything to be that big 1280 x 1024 is way too low.

As for the vertical resizing they are just to the left of the, 'help' there are two horizontal arrows followed by two vertical (up and down) arrows.

They are a bit small and fiddly but they work but try changing your screen resolution first

That's not really resizing - the little arrows just move the kit sketch and the mixer channels up and down the screen - useless. I need to resize (that's the key word) the entire plugin screen. (not your fault I know).

I have the big screen scaled to 200% so that I can see Nuendo/Cubase full screen with the screen behind the mixing desk, so it is a distance away from me.

All the other apps I use (Nuendo, all the Arturia synths, Kontakt etc) are properly RESIZABLE to fit any screen configuration. Even BFD2 fits nicely on all of my screens!

It is only this inflexible BFD3 that is not capable of modern resizing, despite the misleading wording about 'resizing'.

I just wanted to add that, after updating to 3.3.0.44 (from one version before) - I get the multiple version alert.

- it's installed on a newly installed Windows 10. No other previous BFD was installed.

After various attempts (uninstall, reinstall, etc) , then reading this thread to clear out 'binlocation' via regedit, the alert message is solved.

Btw, I've seen (and deleted) many 'binlocation' from _0 to _6
