Core Library Installer wizard problems - Resolved

Postby DeanG » Wed Nov 13, 2013 8:33 pm

Hi all,

When I run the core library wizard installer the buttons are black and I can't get past the installation size screen.
There is nothing in the drop down box, and the wizard hangs. Screen shot attached.

I have tried the new InstallScript.fis file. Machine is a Dell XPS 14 notebook (Ivy Bridge) with Windows 7. Standard OEM build, nothing funky running.

Apologies if this is a FAQ, I browsed the first few pages of the forum but I have not searched extensively. I don't believe it is the same as the installation hang issue, it does not even get that far.

Thanks in advance.

Dean

I just checked my downloads, looks like I only got 17GB, so not a complete download.

The download appeared to be finished in the license manager, if I try again it wants to download from scratch.

So I guess I have no option but to delete the failed download and begin the download from scratch again.

Hi Dean

The obvious question to ask regarding your 17% download is to make sure tyou have the very latest version of the licence manager which is now at V.2.0.13.0

Hi Steve,

My license manager is 2.0.7.0. Previously I was running BFD 2. I assumed license manager would have been updated when I installed BFD 3, but looks like this is not the case?

Thanks for that, I will update license manager and see if it stops the crashing.

That happened to me and it was due to an incomplete download. The blank or blacked out widgets are an indication that you don't have the entire download.

That and the 17GB file size :)

I have a feeling that if you make sure what you have downloaded so far is in the same folder when you re-download it's
supposed to carry on from where it left off but not having had the problem myself I'm not sure how it works but I think if re reload the download ticket and move your 17GB file to where the downloader wants to download to it might just work.

Hopefully someone who's succeeded in doing this can tell me how or if it can be done.

Steve that is correct. The down loader will check the file that is previously DLed and add on to it.

With the updated down loader I managed to complete the download and the installation. Thanks to everyone that responded.

Core Library Installer wizard problems AGAIN !

Postby ToraChan » Thu Nov 07, 2019 5:39 pm

I have "Core Library Installer wizard problems" and the related old thread does not resolve them for me.

The proposed solution there does not solve it for me.

The buttons are still black and the download for the BFD Core Library is not started.

The license manager shows all my licenses correctly and I can use all products, but I cannot activate the "download" sheet in the license manager.

Updating to the latest license manager even made it worse. Crashed the system that I had to restore from backup.

I run:
Windows 10 1903, Intel Core i7 4810MQ, 32 GB, 2x 1TB SSD Samsung EVO.
