BFD3: Content Download Issues

Postby Drew_fx » Mon Sep 30, 2013 9:38 am

Please post here if you have issues downloading the content. If we keep all that stuff in one place it is easier for staff to address.

fxdownload file not recognized

Postby neilwilkes » Mon Sep 30, 2013 5:16 pm

I must be having a brain burp here.
Installed BFD3 as per the instructions.
Went to the fxdownload ticket & all I get is a screen telling me Windows has no clue what this file type is & asks me to go online to find an application to open it.

Do I need to license BFD3 first via the license manager for this to work?
Do I need to reboot?
Do I need to point windows at the license manager exe file?
I need better instructions please, as the current ones are inadequate.

System = Windows 7 Pro SP1 on an E5-2687 Xeon CPU, 64-bit and 32GB RAM

What are you using to download the ticket?

Save the file. You'll be opening the ticket in the license manager.

Hi FXpansion !

I just purchased the download upgrade version of BFD3, have successfully installed "BFD3_30015_Win.exe" and registered the product, but I can't start the download process.

I download the ticket called BFD3_Core_Library.fxfdownload but when I double-click it, nothing happens (except opening it with the notepad). What can I do ?

Thanks and congratulations for the release of this new product !

Emmanuel

look at this topic

http://www.fxpansion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7579339

Run the new License manager with Admin Rights ! The FX License Manager starts , with the login to your account window

fill user name , press enter , fill password , press enter , after press login

go to the File Tab/Options/Preferences and change the Download Location if its needed !

after that go to the Products Tab/Open Download Ticked and locate your BFD3_Core_Library.fxfdownload File and the download begins to start for the Core Audio Library !

did the trick at least for me

I have installed BFD3 OK, then gone to License manager after clicking on the BFD3 Core Library Download ticket, then via the Downloads tab to the download window, where it has been frozen for the last 20 minutes. 37.9Gb to download but nothing at all has arrived, and the download speed reads "?"

Connection speed to other sites reads 42Mbps, so connection is quick. Am I queued waiting to begin the download or has it crashed?

Thanks
Steve

There may be the remote possibility that your connection got dropped momentarily and the DL manager tripped over it right at that moment. You may want to quit and restart the license manager and see if the download kicks in.

I have installed and registered BFD3.

Now, when I go to download the "Download Ticket For BFD3 Core Library Audio Data - V.3.0.0.15" file I click on the Windows Icon and a Release Note window pops up.
It says

Download Ticket For BFD3 Core Library Audio Data - V.3.0.0.15 Windows

Release Date: 2013-09-30
Download Size:

This file is only required if you have purchased the download version of BFD3.

Please note that you must also download the BFD3 software installer and install it. You can then double-click the download ticket file to begin the Core Library audio data download.

I then click on the download button and then a new tab in Internet Explorer opens with a large amount of text with file addresses and such. Am I supposed to save this HTML file? or should I be asked where I would like to save this file?

I tried saving the html file but the license manager will not open it. What kind of file should this ticket be?

Have restarted the license manager twice, and re-loaded the download ticket both times with the same result, no download speed showing and no content arriving at all. Any alternatives I can try?

Update, changed download location to another drive, then back again, and download is now underway.
Thanks for suggestions.
