Further to the above. The copy finished at 2.75 hours. Amazing really, considering this is a 3XS-supplied overclocked 5820K with 32gb ram and writing to SSD. I'd have expected it to run like sand off a shovel.

I think everything has copied over, though I can't find a log file to confirm. BFD3 seems to have found it OK. I've run all the updates now.

Fingers crossed.

BFD3 Core Library download frozen at 26%

Postby PeterMiddleton » Wed Apr 15, 2015 7:20 am

2010 2.8 GHz Mac Pro - Mavericks

Hi, just bought BFD3 on Monday in the sale from AudioDeluxe - despite setting sleep to never the download has frozen at 26% (after about 13 hours to download 12.4/37.9 GB)

I chose the latest version of BFD3 to download.

I've sent a report request, which has been acknowledged, but not answered.

So now I've got the license centre open but nothing is happening -

Please advise my best course of action?

Have you downloaded and installed the most up to date license manager?
It's at the bottom of your accounts page under free stuff, having the most up to date version of BFD3 might not include the most up to date version of the license manager which is at version 2.0.17.0.

Yes, I've just downloaded the version 2.0.17.0. and the download has started again.

the only strange thing was that when I dragged it to the Applications as instructed, I was asked if I wished to replace the NEWER version already there?

Anyway I went ahead and all seems cool now

You've been downloading it for 3 months!!!???

Are you on dial up or something? What speed is your broadband?

Mine is 60MB and it took me 5 hours to download.

I was about to say the same thing...

Even when I had a 30MBPs connection, I got it in 7 hours.

Why haven't you spoken to support in the past 3 months as opposed to starting your first post rather trollish?

I said a couple of months but I started on the 16th of May with an 8mb download speed so it should have taken 20 hours or so but I've had to start over many times. The closest I got to finishing the download was around 90% but it crashed and wouldn't let me reload the ticket to finish the download.

Right now I'm upto 41% which has taken since tuesday..

I've been trying with a mid 2010 MBP on Snow Leopard and a Mid 2015 MBP on Yosemite, both with all sleep settings off, an up to date FX Manager and 2 steady adsl2 connections.. Glad you had no trouble downloading it. I'll just have to babysit the FX Manager and cross my fingers hoping the new laptop can finish it in the next couple of days.

Edit: sorry, 16th of April, not May.

I have this issue with the Peter Erskine installer (others work fine).

I have replaced the InstallScript as advised - made no difference: the installer crashes after about 5 seconds with:

"FXPansion Install System has stopped working"

System is 8 core 3.4GHz Xeon, 128GB Ram, Windows 7 64bit.

Any help gratefully received. Have also emailed support.
