I hope Geist 2 has more editing options in SONG mode so it at least has a MUTE function (so parts can be drawn and then muted without having to be deleted) and more editing functions like a CUT/SLICE and GLUE tools etc and also things like key commands for COPY and PASTE.
I recently purchased Geist 1 and found that the song mode doesnt have a great deal of control as compared to something like reason which I was hoping i could replace with geist.
All I was using reason for was for loops and beats so if geist had more SONG arrangement functions it would suit my needs perfectly and I could do away with reason

I agree the song mode could definitely use more editing functionality. One of the most annoying things about using Geist in a DAW is if you're frequently adding or deleting time from the project (i.e. add/delete measures) and you have to remember to do the same in Geist to keep everything synced up. It's a major workflow hassle - you have to lasso everything in the Song window and manually shift it across by the correct number of measures. This is even more of a headache if the project has time signature changes in it which aren't reflected in Geist, because then you can't even go by the measure numbers because they are out of sync between DAW and Geist (hint hint - please time signature change support!). This would of course be so much easier if there was an option to insert or delete measures at the playhead in the Song window. Position playhead, right click, select "add/delete measures," dialog box comes up, specify number of measures, BOOM.
A part mute function would also be very useful as you say. I often find myself wanting to mute parts without deleting them - perhaps you wish to experiment with the arrangement but you don't want to delete the part because you might have some complicated pattern offsets which would take a long time to recreate should you delete the parts and reinsert them.
Copy and paste, I'm happy with. I generally just lasso stuff and alt-drag it to copy.

Totally agree there too ....
I usually do everything with Cubase and then rewire Reason to Cubase and use Reason to add an odd loop here and there or trigger a sample on the drum machine I dont really use Reason for anything else, I was just about to buy reason 8 when I stumbled across Geist I got excited when I saw the Song Mode and literally bought it on teh spot without trying the demo first thinking that it would be able to replace how I would use Reason in Rewire mode with Cubase!!
But after playing around with Geist realised it was very basic and time consuming to make it follow along with Cubase it is very much a workflow killer so alas it sits and waits for hopfully Geist 2 to have these functions, SOOO glad drew fx that you will bring it up with the Devs!! I guess I will just have to wait until Geist 2

So if they aren't in it please can we have these in Geist 2 please, please, please
