What's going on?

Postby masterjoe » Sun Aug 28, 2016 2:50 pm

Hi dudes...
it's been quite a while since you have posted a bugfix or new version for Geist2!

So I am curious what you guys are working on?
Are you already busy implementing feature requests for 2.1?

Or are there tricky bugs which are hard to solve?

Just curious...

Last update was released only last month. What fixes are you waiting for?

Repeat Mapping Bug
Unable to map 1/64T. a value of 127 give 1/64 not 1/64t. all other values are mappable.

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=7581938&p=102620#p102620 (orignial post with typo 1/34T was wrote instead of 1/64T

Sorry Another mapping Bug Layer Play Mode
Only able to Map 4 of 5 modes Random should equal 127 a value of 127 selects Round Robin Reset. Have geist set to continuous for mapping this Sendin on and off value of 1 for all layers 50 for vel split 85 for layer rr 127 for rr reset should be Random

These have been submitted as bug reports, and will be fixed in the next update:

BR 0014933 - Pattern control mappings missing Focus function
BR 0014956 - MIDI mapping of Repeat value only reaches 1/64 instead of 1/64t at 127
BR 0014957 - MIDI mapping of Round Robin type only reaches Round Robin Reset instead of Random at 127

Mixed messages going on so I'm confused.

It says in the forums that 2.0.6.5 is a beta:
viewtopic.php?f=60&t=7582080

I've now gone to the user area and just found out 2.0.6.5 is a non beta download, but I didn't see anything here that it is out of beta or get any email notifications.

So is it the same file or not? Unless I'm missing something

Thanks...

Nothing to be confused about. Public betas often end up as "official" releases in the end. Unless they're big updates we don't announce it formally.

We're always working on the next version.

Ive been waiting patiently for 45 days for update to bugs in last release.(2 of these are mapping bugs were in initial release of geist 2). All Previous beta and updates have came out in 2 to 4 weeks since previous version (very quickly to fix stuff from initial release)( i also understand that as time goes on updates wont come as fast unless something is truely broken. But this has to do with fixes to Geist 2 Initial release bugs) .

Thanks but from my perspective confusion is generated when a beta becomes an official release, unless you tell us. There are no other channels to notify us of what is going on other than the forums, so right now anybody visiting the forums who didn't see this post, the official release is still a beta. Just saying.

I'm bigtime waiting for an option to prevent the display from following the currently playing pattern. Not having it is a massive workflow killer when working on fills. Used it all the time in GURU!

This is a valid point - realised the other day that when a new version is released, there's no email notification to inform us. Is this system in place and I've not checked an option somewhere, and if not, could this be set up somehow?

What errors are you still experiencing that were present in the release version?

There are 3 or 4 skins that make the polyrhythmic triangles on the righthand side invisible.
