Geist2 - 2.1.2.13

Postby Lawrence_fx » Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:56 pm

Hi all,

We've just released an update for Geist2, v2.1.2.13, which addresses the following:

- macOS Catalina support
- Case-sensitive file system compatibility
- Fix for non-persistent scene renaming
- Correct position and icon for Geist Expanders in browser
- Bundled update to FX License Manager (v2.1.0.13)

We've also updated all affected Geist Expander installers to ensure that the full suite of Geist Expanders can now install successfully on macOS Catalina.

Should you encounter any issues with this version, please let us know.

Hi there, License Manager won't detect any updates until they're out of public beta and released as a minor/major update.

If you find that Logic is unable to locate the Geist2 AU, we recommend clearing the AU cache and restarting your machine - the next time you open Logic, the AU should be scanned successfully.

I don't understand this behaviour. Is it a bug ?
Thanks.

I'm getting a "Windows Defender SmartScreen" warning for both Geist2 2.1.2.13 and the Sleighbells Expander. I don't get a similar message with any of the other Expanders I have, or the previous version of Geist2. I tried letting the Geist2 exe continue after getting the message, and just got another file with an indecipherable name that didn't automatically run (all of the other Expanders and the previous version of Geist2 expand, then ask to install), and I decided not to proceed further with it (just installed the previous version instead).

Could someone take a look at the installers for those two and insure that they haven't been altered, and if they haven't, do something to eliminate the Windows Defender SmartScreen block?

Hi, there haven't been any recent changes to these installers, and they've been uploaded by us on a secure connection to a secure server, so it is very unlikely that they've been tampered with. We'll look into these installers, and please feel free to proceed further and let us know if you encounter any particular issues.

Please feel free to attach any screenshots of the particular errors that appear, and we can take a look.

I was able to update to 2.1.2.13 from 2.1.2.10 via the License Manager, though it did take two tries for it it to take. Sleigh_Bells_Windows.exe still generates the SmartScreen warning (not critical - I was just trying to make sure I had everything the same on Win and Mac) - I've attached a screenshot for reference. This is on Windows 10 Home on a Surface Go.

@nervaan
What is cool about this? I have another issue with Geist2 again which I posted already to the support.
Things are that I am looking for another Drum plugin like Nerve or Battery. This is really a pity with Geist2.

When I went to the Geist 2 downloads page and started downloading this version, I got an error in Chrome saying "file cannot be downloaded securely". What's this about?
